In today’s report, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has appointed a Nodal Officer to oversee the implementation of a major Supreme Court judgement related to the Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReT) scheme. According to an official order issued by the School Education Department, Thannaji Bhat has been nominated to coordinate the monitoring, evaluation, and execution of the apex court’s directives following the April 30, 2026 Supreme Court ruling in the case involving the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Saba Wani & others. The judgement concerns the engagement and appointment of candidates included in duly constituted ReT select panels against existing vacancies, subject to conditions including NCTE qualifications, TET clearance, regularisation rules, and seniority determination. The Nodal Officer will coordinate with the Law Department and School Education Directorates in Jammu and Kashmir divisions to verify records, vacancy positions, empanelled candidates, and service details for proper implementation of the court order.
